Boat St. Pete Beach, Clearwater, and Boating St. Petersburg


Whether you live in the area and own a boat, or are visiting the area with a boat, St. Petersburg area in Florida offers a wide variety of boating adventures. Located along the Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg, St. Pete Beach, and nearby Clearwater are all popular areas to getaway for both tourists and locals alike.

What should be your first stop by boat? St. Petersburg Pier offers fun for the whole family. Located close to Florida’s Gulf Beaches, The Pier extends almost a mile from the mainland and plays host to museums, The Pier Aquarium, great dining, unique shopping, and much more. The Municipal Marina Courtesy Docks located in the Central Yacht Basin along the south side of The Pier. The docks are available on a first come, first served basis and require a minimal hourly fee.

Next stop with the boat? St. Pete Beach. With several nearby marinas available, St. Pete Beach is a great place to bring the boat. St. Pete Beach area beaches are part of a beautiful strip of beaches along the Gulf of Mexico.

Perhaps you’d enjoy casting a line, or doing some trolling while out on the boat? Clearwater, just north of St. Pete is one of the many areas along Florida’s West Coast known for it’s great sport fishing spots.

Fishing Clearwater area waters can take a lot of muscle and patience. Some of the more exciting species you’ll find while fishing Clearwater area are: barracuda, bonito, sharks, grouper and mangrove snapper. One of the most difficult fish to fight and catch is amberjack. When you fish and boat Clearwater, you just might get a chance to try your luck with one of those tough guys.

If you’re looking to get away from the saltwater, Pinellas County is home to one of Florida’s most beautiful lakes, Lake Tarpon. When you boat Lake Tarpon, you will be amazed at how many tourists and locals alike come together to enjoy this 2,500 acre Pinellas County gem. There are several Pinellas County Park boat launches for you to use, including at A.L. Anderson Park in Tarpon Springs. If you boat Lake Tarpon, a good thing to keep in mind is that The Belle Harbour Marina in Tarpon Springs does not provide public boat ramps, but it does offer a snack and dive shop, fuel and pump-out services, and restroom/shower facilities.
